The Indian Air Force exam committee has declared the results of the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) today. Candidates can check their results on the official website, where scorecards and merit lists will be available. The examination was conducted on January 31. This exam aims to fill 340 Group A Gazetted Officer positions across various branches, including the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (technical and non-technical). The AFCAT exam is one of the prominent gateways for young Indian citizens to get into the services as commissioned officers.

Follow the following steps to access your AFCAT result 2026:
- Step 1: Go to the official website afcat.edcil.co.in.
- Look for the “AFCAT-01/2026 Result has been declared” notice popping up on the homepage.
- You will be taken to the main results page, where you will enter the candidate’s login credentials.
- Fill in your login details, provide your Email ID and Password.
- Your AFCAT 01/2026 scorecard will be displayed. Download and save for your reference.
Details on the AFCAT Scorecard
The AFCAT 1 2026 scorecard will have the following details:
- Candidate’s full name and registration number
- Section-wise marks
- Total marks
- AFCAT 1 cutoff
- Your result status
- Category-wise rank detailÂ
Candidates scoring quala and above the cutoff will be shortlisted for the next Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) round.
AFCAT 1 Exam Maring Scheme 2026
The AFCAT exam follows the following marking scheme:
- +3 Marks for correct answers
- -1 mark for every incorrect answer
- No marks deducted for unattempted questions
AFCAT Complete Selection Process
The result above is for clearing the first round of the AFCAT exam. The exam follows a rigorous testing process. Below, we’ll be providing you with an overview of the whole AFCAT exam clearing process:
Stage 1: AFSB Registration
After clearing the AFCAT written exam, the shortlisted candidates register themselves for the AFSB interviews through the official website. After this, they will receive the AFSB interview exam date via email and phone number.
Stage 2: AFSB Exam Testing Components
The AFSB interview goes on for 4-5 days, including multiple rounds of assessments.
DAY 1: Screening Round
The Screening round has the following tests:
- Officer Intelligence Tests
- Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT)
Candidates clearing Day 1 proceed to further test on DAY 2.
DAY 2: Psychological and Group Testing
Day 2 follows multiple testing rounds and tests like:
- Psychological Tests: Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self-Description Test conducted by psychologists
- Group Tests: GD, Group planning, progressive group, Group tasks, lecturette
- Personal Interview: One-to-one round with the interview panel
- CPSS (Computerised Pilot Selection System): Applicable for candidates opting for the Flying Branch
Stage 3: Medical Examination
All candidates clearing the previous round go through a strict and mandatory medical round to meet the physical and medical standards of the IAF.
Stage 4: Final Merit List
The final merit selection is based on the combined performance in the written, AFSB testing rounds and medical rounds. According to the merit list, the branches are allocated. The merit list decides the flying officers and ground officers in technical and non-technical fields.Â
