According to an official update reported by India Today, the decision was taken after the examination conducted on February 7–8, 2026 could not be completed at specific centres due to unavoidable circumstances.

Why the CTET February 2026 Exam Was Cancelled

The re-exam applies only to candidates allotted the following examination centres in Vaishali district:

• 125016 – St. John’s Academy, Basmati Nagar

• 125014 – Lakshya International Academy, Hajipur

Authorities cancelled the exam at these locations citing administrative or unavoidable issues, prompting CBSE to arrange a special re-examination opportunity.
