The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has scheduled the Class 10 Board Examinations 2026 (Phase 1 main exams) to begin on February 17, 2026, with the first paper being Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic. According to the revised date sheet issued by CBSE on its official website cbse.gov.in, the pen-and-paper based theory exams will continue until March 11, 2026, across various subjects for students in the academic year 2025-26. Admit cards are already available for download from the official portal, and exams will be conducted in multiple shifts nationwide from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm for most papers. The authority has not announced further details yet on practical exam schedules or Phase 2 improvement exams.

Exam Day Guidelines and Preparation Tips

CBSE has issued standard instructions for smooth conduct of the examinations. Candidates are required to:

  • Carry the original admit card 2026 and a valid school ID or photo ID to the examination centre.
  • Arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time to avoid last-minute rush.
  • Adhere to the dress code by wearing school uniform as prescribed.
  • Refrain from bringing electronic devices, study materials, or any prohibited items into the exam hall.

With the exams starting in just a few days from the current date of February 12, 2026, students are advised to finalise their revision plans using the official timetable and focus on core subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, Hindi, and Social Science.
