The wait for thousands of postgraduate aspirants is finally over. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer key and individual response sheets for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) PG 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the exams held between March 6 and March 27, 2026, can now access the portal to verify their answers. This release is a critical step before the final results, as it allows students to estimate their scores, analyze their performance, and challenge any discrepancies found in the official keys.

How to Download CUET PG 2026 Answer Key?

To check your performance, you need to navigate the official NTA website. The process is designed to be secure, ensuring that only you can view your specific response sheet. Follow these simple steps:

• Visit the Official Portal: Head over to the dedicated CUET PG website at exams.nta.nic.in/CUET-PG/.

• Secure Login: Click on the active link for “CUET PG 2026 Answer Key & Response Sheet.” You will be prompted to log in using your Application Number and Password. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can also use your Date of Birth as an alternative login credential.

• Access Your Documents: Once the dashboard opens, look for two distinct buttons: “View/Challenge Answer Key” and “View Response Sheet.” The response sheet contains the exact options you marked during the computer-based test (CBT).

• Save for Reference: It is highly recommended to download and print both files. The portal usually closes after the objection window, and you will need these documents later to compare with the final results.

How To Calculate CUET PG Marks?

Unlike some competitive exams where the scoring can be complex or based on percentiles alone, the initial CUET PG raw score is calculated using a straightforward arithmetic formula. Most papers consisted of 75 questions for a total of 300 marks. Here is how you can perform a DIY score check:

• Positive Marks: For every question where your marked response matches the official answer key, award yourself +4 marks.

• Negative Marking: The NTA follows a strict negative marking policy. For every incorrect answer, deduct -1 mark from your total.

• Skipped Questions: If you chose not to attempt a question, it results in 0 marks (no gain, no loss).

Raising Objections: The Deadline is Near

The “Provisional” status of the answer key means it isn’t the final word. NTA acknowledges that errors can happen in question phrasing or answer options. If you are confident that the official key is wrong, you have the right to challenge it, but you must act quickly.

• The Window: The objection portal is open for a very limited time, usually ending on April 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

• The Processing Fee: Candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question challenged. This is intended to ensure that only serious discrepancies are reported.

• Evidence Matters: You cannot simply claim an answer is wrong. You must upload a supporting document—typically a scanned page from a standard textbook or a peer-reviewed journal—saved as a single PDF.

• Expert Review: Once the window closes, NTA’s panel of subject-matter experts will review all challenges. If your objection is upheld, the answer key will be updated for everyone, and the Final Answer Key will be published.

What’s Next? Result and Cut-offs

The provisional answer key gives you a clear “sneak peek” at your future. While the NTA has not set an exact hour for the CUET PG 2026 Results, historically, they are released within 10 to 14 days after the final answer key is frozen. This puts the expected result date in the first week of May 2026.

Once the results are live, the focus shifts from NTA to individual universities. Institutions like JNU, BHU, and Delhi University (DU) do not have a centralized counseling process. Instead, you will need to apply to each university separately using your CUET score.

Based on early student feedback, competition for Humanities and Science streams remains high, with top-tier colleges expected to have cut-offs ranging between 215 and 255 marks for general category students.
