GATE 2026 Admit Cards Released by IIT Guwahati; Direct Link Provided, Download Hall Ticket
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, has released the admit cards on January 13, 2026. Registered candidates can now download their hall tickets from the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in through the GOAPS portal. The organising institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 is IIT Guwahati. Initially, the admit cards were to be released by January 2; however, they got delayed. The national-level examination, used for admission to postgraduate programmes and recruitment by public sector undertakings, is scheduled as a computer-based test on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, across multiple sessions in over 200 cities in India.

GATE Admit Card LIVE: Steps to Download
According to the official notification and updates on the GATE 2026 portal, candidates must follow these steps to access their admit cards:
- Visit the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- Navigate to the GOAPS portal login page.
- Enter the enrolment ID or email ID and password used during registration.
- View and verify the admit card details, including exam date, shift timing, centre name, and venue address.
- Download the admit card and take a printout on A4-size paper for use on exam day.
Candidates are advised to check all printed information carefully and contact the GATE office immediately in case of any discrepancies. The authority has not announced further details yet regarding corrections after download.
GATE 2026 Exam Schedule
The GATE 2026 examination will be conducted in two daily sessions – forenoon (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM) and afternoon (2:30 PM to 5:30 PM) – over four days. According to the paper schedule published by IIT Guwahati, the test papers are distributed as follows:
- February 7, 2026 (Saturday): Forenoon – AG, ES, GG, IN, MA, MN, TF, XE, XL; Afternoon – AE, BT, CH, CY, GE, PH, XH.
- February 8, 2026 (Sunday): Forenoon – CS-1, ST; Afternoon – CS-2, EY, NM, PE.
- February 14, 2026 (Saturday): Forenoon – CE-1, EE, PI; Afternoon – BM, CE-2, ME, MT.
- February 15, 2026 (Sunday): Forenoon – AR, EC, GE (wait, GE is already listed; adjust based on full list but key is multiple papers per session).
GATE 2026 features 30 test papers, conducted entirely in English with objective-type questions including Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Candidates can appear in one or two test papers, subject to the schedule.
GATE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
According to official instructions issued by IIT Guwahati, candidates must carry:
- The printed GATE 2026 admit card on A4-size paper.
- A valid original photo identity proof (such as Aadhaar, passport, or driving licence).
Failure to produce these documents may result in denial of entry to the examination centre. The use of the on-screen virtual calculator is mandatory, and no physical calculators are allowed.
GATE Exam Key Dates and Additional Information
The results of GATE 2026 are scheduled to be announced on March 19, 2026, with scorecards available for download thereafter. IIT Guwahati coordinates the examination on behalf of the National Coordination Board under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The score remains valid for three years from the result declaration date for admissions and select recruitments.
