The National Testing Agency (NTA) has added two new examination cities for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026. As per the public notice released on December 23, 2025, Vapi in Gujarat and Daman in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have been included as exam centres for NIFTEE 2026.
With this addition, the total number of examination cities for NIFTEE 2026 has increased from 100 to 102. The decision was taken by NTA based on the request received from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to facilitate candidates and enhance accessibility to examination centres, particularly for aspirants from these regions.

How Can Already Registered Candidates Change Exam City?
Candidates who have already submitted their application forms and selected other examination cities can opt for any of the newly added cities during the correction window. The correction window will open after the closure of the application submission deadline, and the schedule will be notified separately by NTA.
The correction window for NIFTEE 2026 is expected to remain open from January 12 to January 14, 2026, during which candidates can edit their exam city preferences.

The online registration process for NIFTEE 2026 is currently in progress as per the public notice dated December 8, 2025. Candidates can apply for the entrance examination through the official NTA portal at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee.

Application Fee
Candidates from General, OBC (NCL), and EWS categories are required to pay Rs 3,000 for a single programme and Rs 4,500 for two programmes. For SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, the fee is Rs 1,500 for a single programme and Rs 2,250 for two programmes. An additional late fee of Rs 5,000 will be applicable for applications submitted between January 7 and January 10, 2026.
Important Instructions from NTA
NTA has advised candidates not to wait until the last date and to complete the online application process well in advance to avoid last-minute difficulties. The agency has also clarified that though every effort will be made to allot an examination centre in one of the cities selected by the candidate, NTA reserves the right to allot a centre in a city other than the candidate’s choice depending on administrative and logistical considerations.
All other terms and conditions mentioned in the Information Bulletin and earlier public notices shall remain unchanged.
About NIFTEE 2026
NIFT Entrance Examination 2026 is conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The exam comprises the General Ability Test (GAT) conducted in computer-based mode and the Creative Ability Test (CAT) conducted in pen-and-paper mode. Shortlisted candidates are called for Situation Test or Personal Interview based on the programme applied for.
