This final extension was announced through an official Public Notice dated 09 January 2026. The decision comes after NIFT formally requested NTA to extend the schedule following representations from students seeking additional time for application submission.
NIFTEE 2026 Application Deadline Extension: Official Announcement
The online registration process for NIFTEE 2026 is currently in progress as per the Public Notice dated 08 December 2025. NIFT has received a large number of representations and requests from students seeking additional time for submission of the online application form, citing various reasons.
In view of this, NIFT has formally requested the NTA to extend the schedule for submission of the online application form for UG, PG, and NLEA programmes. This extension provides one final opportunity to eligible candidates to apply for the examination.
NTA has clearly stated that this is the final extension and no further request for extension shall be entertained under any circumstances.

NIFTEE 2026 Stage 1 Exam Date and Mode

Candidates who miss the 16 January 2026 deadline can submit their application with a late fee of ₹5,000/- in addition to the regular application fee. This late fee window is available from 17 January 2026 to 19 January 2026.
After 19 January 2026, no applications will be accepted as NTA has confirmed this is the final extension.
