The NTA has officially invited applications for the National Teachers Eligibility Test (2026) on its official website. The NTET 2026 registration commenced on 11th March 2026 and will be open till 2nd April 2026. The application can be paid latest by 3rd April, 2026 till 11:50 pm. 

The National Teachers Eligibility Test is a national level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of postgraduates for teaching positions in Indian systems of medicine such as Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Sowa-Rigpa and Homeopathy. The NTET exam 2026 is officially scheduled to be held on 28th April 2026, which will be a Tuesday.

How to Register for NTET 2026?

The NTET 2026 registration process is simple. Here are the steps involved:

1. Click on https://exams.nta.nic.in/registration-for-ntet-2026/. This link will lead directly to the NTET 2026 registration link.

2. Click on ‘Registration for NTET 2026’.

3. Click on ‘New Registration’ if you’re a new candidate, or choose ‘Login’ if you’re an already registered candidate.

4. After reading the T&Cs, click on ‘I have downloaded the information bulletin…’ checkbox and choose ‘Click here to Proceed’.

5. Now, fill your personal, residential, academic, professional and other details as required in the application form.

6. Upload necessary documents as required by the form. These may include your passport size photograph, signature, thumb impression, marksheets, medical documents (if required) and other documents.

7. After completing these formalities, proceed to pay the application fee.

8. Once the application fee is paid, your NTET 2026 registration will be successful. You will receive a notification of successful registration on your registered email address and phone number. 

What is the NTET 2026 Registration Fee?

After filling the NTET 2026 application form, candidates will have to pay the relevant fee to complete the registration process. 

Eligibility Criteria for NTET 2026 Registration?

Candidates must satisfy the NTET 2026 eligibility criteria to register for the exam. The criteria are as follows:

  1. Candidates must have a recognized undergraduate and postgraduate degree in AYUSH disciplines such as BAMS with MD/MS (Ayurveda), BSMS with MD (Siddha), BUMS with MD/MS (Unani), or BHMS with MD (Homoeopathy) from a recognized institution.
  2. Candidates pursuing postgraduate studies in Ayurveda, Siddha, or Unani can appear for the exam after completing at least 30 months of their PG course.
  3. For Homoeopathy, candidates must have completed their postgraduate degree before appearing for NTET.
  4. The degrees must be recognized under the relevant regulatory bodies for Indian systems of medicine or Homoeopathy.
  5. Candidates appearing for NTET should be seeking eligibility for teaching positions such as Assistant Professor in AYUSH medical colleges.
