Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria

The OTET exam is divided into two categories: Paper I (for Classes I-V) and Paper II (for Classes VI-VIII).

For Paper I (Primary Teachers):

  • Higher Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/CT).

  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

  • OR 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

For Paper II (Upper Primary Teachers):

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed or 2-year D.El.Ed.

  • Note: Candidates must be permanent residents of Odisha and should have passed the 10th standard with Odia as a subject.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus Highlights
