SSC JE Paper 2 Date Announced, Find Full Details Here

The Staff Selection Committee (SSC) on March 9th, 2026 announced the schedule of Junior Engineer (JE) Examination Paper 2. The JE exam paper 2 is scheduled to be held on April 7th, 2026. Candidates who qualified the Paper 1 level are eligible to appear for this Computer-Based Test. SSC JE examinations are held to fill engineering vacancies in Central Government departments.

The result for SSC JE examination Paper 1 was released on March 6th, 2026. A total of 15,607 qualified the exam, becoming eligible for the Paper 2 examination. SSC JE exams are conducted for engineering disciplines like Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The result for Paper 1 was released in 2 lists. The link for both are attached below:

SSC JE Exam Pattern

Paper 1 of the SSC JE examination is an objective-type examination that aims to test the candidates’ reasoning, general awareness, general intelligence and general engineering knowledge. While Paper 2 is a technical examination based on engineering specific domains. It  consists of three parts : Part A (General Engineering – Civil + Structural), Part B (General Engineering – Electrical) and Part C (General Engineering – Mechanical). Candidates clearing Paper 1 appear for Paper 2. 

Paper 2 will consist of 100 questions for a total of 300 marks. The paper has to be completed in a duration of 2 hours. +3 marks are rewarded for every correct answer and -1 is deducted for each wrong answer. The previous year exam of the same level, i.e. SSC JE exam Paper 2 2024, was assessed to be moderately difficult by students. 

The SSC JE Examinations 2025 are expected to fill around 1,731 vacancies across departments. These include the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Military Engineer Services (MES), Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Central Water Commission (CWC), National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) and others.
