VITEEE 2026 Slot Booking

VITEEE 2026 Slot Booking Live: OTBS VIT Link Soon, How to Book Exam Date, Shift Timings

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has officially entered the next phase of its 2026 admissions cycle. Following the closure of the registration window on April 12, the university is set to activate the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) link today, April 13, 2026.

This automated portal is the only gateway for registered students to reserve their specific examination slots. With over two lakh aspirants expected to compete for seats across the Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal campuses, the competition begins not just in the exam hall, but at the booking portal itself.

Candidates are advised to keep their login credentials ready, as the system operates on a high-stakes “first-come, first-served” basis, and popular dates in major cities often disappear within the first few hours of the link going live.

VITEEE 2026 Slot Booking: The OTBS Portal

The OTBS (Online Test Booking System) is a student-centric platform designed to provide flexibility, but it requires quick decision-making. Starting today, candidates must log in to the official website, viteee.vit.ac.in, to access the dashboard.

The system displays a real-time count of available seats at various test centers across India and abroad. It is crucial to understand that if a candidate misses the booking window, they lose the right to choose; the university will then programmatically assign a random slot based on the remaining capacity.

Given that the exam period spans multiple days, securing a slot that aligns with your travel plans and peak productivity hours—whether that is a fresh morning session or a midday slot—can significantly impact your performance.

How to Book VITEEE 2026 Exam Date and Shift?

Once the link is live, candidates can follow these simple steps to complete their booking:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to viteee.vit.ac.in.

  2. Login to OTBS: Look for the “VITEEE 2026 Slot Booking” or “OTBS” link. Enter your Application Number and Password (created during registration).

  3. Select Test Details: Choose your preferred Test City, Exam Date, and Shift Timing.

  4. Confirm and Submit: Review your choices carefully. Note: Once a slot is confirmed, it cannot be changed under any circumstances.

  5. Download Admit Card: Immediately after confirmation, your VITEEE 2026 Admit Card will be generated. Download and print it for the exam day.

VITEEE 2026 Exam Dates and Shift Timings

The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination is scheduled to be held from April 28 to May 3, 2026. The exam will be conducted in multiple shifts daily to accommodate the large number of applicants.

Shift Timing
Shift 1 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Shift 2 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Note: Some centres may host a third shift depending on the number of candidates in that specific city.

Admit Card Release Date and Details

The VITEEE 2026 Admit Card is typically released instantly upon completion of the slot booking process. However, some candidates may be able to download it up to 48 hours before their specific exam date through the portal.

Details to check on your Admit Card:

  • Candidate’s Name and Application Number

  • Selected Exam Date and Shift Timing

  • Full Address of the Exam Centre

  • Scanned Photo and Signature

  • Important Exam Day Instructions

If there is any discrepancy in the details printed on the hall ticket, candidates should immediately contact the VIT admission office via their official helpline.

Important Tips for Candidates

  • High Traffic: Expect the website to be slow during the first few hours of the link activation. Do not panic; keep refreshing the page.

  • No Negative Marking (Clarification): While some sections like English and Aptitude are scoring, always verify the latest marking scheme on the portal. Generally, VITEEE does not follow a negative marking system, but it is wise to read the instructions on the computer screen before starting the test.

  • Mandatory Documents: You must carry a printed copy of the admit card and a valid government ID (Aadhar, PAN, etc.) to the exam hall.
