ICFAI University Mizoram opens hospitality, tourism admissions for 2026; apply by 24 July

Admissions for hospitality and tourism courses are open for the 2026 academic year at ICFAI University, Mizoram and Mizoram University. ICFAI University, Mizoram is offering a one-year Certificate Course in Hospitality and Tourism, with the application deadline set for 24 July 2026. Mizoram University is providing a Skill Enhancement Course in Hospitality Management, with admissions concluding on 21 September 2026.

These programs aim to prepare students for careers in the hospitality and tourism sector. Aizawl currently has one Hotel Management college offering various courses including BCT & CA, BHM, BHMCT, and BHMTT. Admissions to hotel management colleges in Aizawl are typically conducted through national entrance exams, CETs, and institute-level entrance exams.

ICFAI University Mizoram: Certificate Course in Hospitality & Tourism

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism at ICFAI University, Mizoram, offers a one-year Certificate Course in Hospitality and Tourism, structured into two semesters. Students enrolled in this course are required to complete four theory papers and an internship during the second semester. The medium of instruction for the program is English.

To be eligible for the Certificate Course, applicants must have passed Class XII with an aggregate of 40% and above in any discipline. Students awaiting their final examination results are also eligible to apply. Selection for the course is based on a screening of applications followed by an interview. ICFAI University, Mizoram, has a special provision reserving 5% of seats in every program for students with disabilities.

Application Process and Fees

Prospective students can obtain the Application Form for Admission by paying Rs. 300 in cash. The Admission Fee for the Certificate Course is Rs. 2,000. A Caution Deposit of Rs. 3,000 is also required, payable along with the first semester fee. For domicile students, the program fee per semester is Rs. 18,000, totaling Rs. 36,000 for the entire program. Non-domicile and international students will pay Rs. 18,500 per semester, amounting to a total program fee of Rs. 37,000.

ICFAI University, Mizoram, offers NJY Merit Scholarships for the Certificate Course (Hospitality and Tourism) program. These scholarships are awarded based on past academic records, specifically Class XII percentages, and semester-wise performance, requiring a minimum 6.0 GPA. The scholarship amounts vary based on academic achievement, with up to Rs. 10,800 for students with 90% or more in Class XII, and up to Rs. 5,400 per semester for a CGPA of 9.00 or above.

Mizoram University Offerings and Rankings

Mizoram University offers a Skill Enhancement Course in Hospitality Management. This course is exclusively available for students of Mizoram University affiliated colleges. The last date for admission to this skill enhancement course is 21 September 2026.

The average salary for graduates with a BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from top colleges ranges from ₹16.3 K to ₹4 L, while a Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) can lead to an average salary of ₹1.6 L to ₹4.5 L from top colleges.
