Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Government of India Enterprise operating under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will open applications for 358 Graduate Apprentice Trainee (Engineering) posts on 15 July 2026. Selected apprentices will receive a competitive monthly stipend of ₹25,000, as confirmed by the official notification. This stipend comprises ₹20,500 paid directly by HPCL and an additional ₹4,500 paid to apprentices by the Government of India under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.

HPCL Graduate Apprentice Trainee 2026: Vacancy Details and Stipend
A total of 358 training slots are available for Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering) across various disciplines. These include Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation engineering graduates. HPCL aims to engage talented engineering graduates for practical training and industry exposure through this initiative.
The training locations are spread all over India, across HPCL’s Marketing Division. HPCL Graduate Apprentice 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility requirements before applying for the HPCL Graduate Apprentice Recruitment 2026:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Should have completed a BE/BTech degree on or after September 1, 2023.
- Must be at least 18 years old as on July 31, 2026 (upper age limit varies by category).
- UR/OBC-NCL candidates must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying engineering degree.
- SC/ST/PwBD candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- Must be registered and approved on the NATS 2.0 portal by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT).
- Candidates with one year or more of work experience after graduation are not eligible.
- Candidates currently undergoing or who have already completed an apprenticeship with another organisation are not eligible.

HPCL Graduate Apprentice 2026: Selection Process and Future Prospects
- Selection will be based only on the merit of marks obtained in the qualifying engineering degree.
- No written examination will be conducted for the apprenticeship.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification in a 1:5 ratio against the notified training slots.
- The apprenticeship training will be for one year.
- Selected apprentices will receive practical industry training and hands-on experience at HPCL.
- Completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent or temporary employment with HPCL.
- Apprentices who successfully complete the training may receive the following benefits in future HPCL recruitments:
- Age relaxation of up to one year, subject to the recruitment notification.
- Additional 5% grace marks in the Computer-Based Test (CBT), wherever applicable.
