KSET 2026 revised answer keys released for 28 subjects, 24 grace marks across 10 subjects

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on October 24, 2026, released the revised answer keys for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2026. These revised keys are available for Paper 1 and 28 subjects of Paper 2 on the official website, kea.kar.nic.in. The publication follows a review of objections submitted by candidates, which were assessed by subject-matter experts.

The KSET 2026 examination, a state-level eligibility test approved by the UGC for Assistant Professor positions in Karnataka, was conducted on October 11, 2026. Provisional answer keys were initially released on October 12, 2026, for Paper 1 and 37 subjects of Paper 2, with an objection window closing on October 14, 2026.

Changes in Revised Answer Keys and Grace Marks

The revised answer keys reflect changes based on recommendations from expert committees, specifically for questions where objections were received. For nine subjects of Paper 2, no objections were submitted, and as a consequence their answer keys remain unchanged from the provisional release. These subjects include Tourism Administration and Management (11), Education (12), Education (15), Sanskrit (19), Folk Literature (21), Home Science (30), Women Studies (37), Performing Arts (39), and Music (40).

A notable aspect of the revised answer keys is the inclusion of 24 grace-mark question entries across 10 subjects. Management (Subject Code 10) has five questions marked for grace marks (Questions 25, 51, 60, 68, 84 in A1 booklet). Mathematical Sciences (Subject Code 26) has four questions marked for grace marks (Questions 4, 5, 13, 58 in A1 booklet). Other subjects with grace marks include English (3 questions), Economics (3 questions), Physical Sciences (3 questions), Kannada (2 questions), Life Sciences (1 question), History (1 question), Political Science (1 question), and General Studies (Paper 1, 1 question).

Along with grace marks, KEA has accepted multiple correct answers for certain questions in the revised keys. For instance, Life Sciences (Question 49 in A1) now has four accepted options, Mathematical Sciences (Question 89 in A1) has three, Economics (Question 58 in A1) has two, Commerce (Question 57 in A1) has three, and Physical Sciences (Question 30 in A1) has two accepted options.

Objection Process and Examination Structure

Candidates were allowed to raise objections to the provisional answer keys until 10:30 am on October 14, 2026. The objection fee was Rs. 50 per objection, which was non-refundable. Objections had to be submitted online through the KEA portal, with supporting documents uploaded in PDF format. Incomplete objections or those lacking valid proof or fee were not considered by the authority.

The KSET 2026 examination comprised two papers: Paper I (General) and Paper II (Subject-wise), covering a total of 37 subjects. The total marks for the exam were 300, corresponding to 150 questions. Each correct answer carried +2 marks, and there was no negative marking for incorrect answers. The application process for KSET 2026 began on August 10, 2026, with admit cards released on October 3, 2026.
