VMOU Girls Distance Education Scheme: Apply online starting October 3, 2026

Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) has announced the opening of online applications for its Girls Distance Education Scheme for the 2026-27 academic session. The application process commenced today, 3 October 2026, for eligible female candidates seeking admission to various courses.

This initiative falls under the Rajasthan Government’s “Balika Durasth Shiksha Yojana,” which aims to provide free education to girls and women by reimbursing their entire course fees. The scheme is expected to benefit a significant number of female students across the state.

Application Process and Key Dates

Candidates interested in the Girls Distance Education Scheme can access the online application forms through the official VMOU website, vmou.ac.in/notices-homepage. While the application window for this specific scheme has opened today, it is distinct from the general VMOU Kota New Admission 2026 forms, which were accepted from 1 January 2026 to 22 March 2026.

The application fees for various courses can only be submitted through online payment modes, including BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Master, Maestro Card, or RuPay Debit card. Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents

Specific academic qualifications are required for admission to VMOU’s distance education programs. For Undergraduate (UG) courses, candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board or possess an equivalent qualification. Postgraduate (PG) courses require a Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from a recognized university.

Candidates applying for the B.Ed. Program must currently be working as a teacher in a recognized school and have completed a face-to-face teacher training program, such as BSTC or D.El.Ed., recognized by the NCTE. SC/ST and Specially Abled students are eligible for scholarships in accordance with government norms.

Course Fees and Available Programs

VMOU offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs through distance education. While the “Balika Durasth Shiksha Yojana” covers the entire fees for eligible female candidates, the approximate fee structure for various courses for general admissions provides an indication of the program costs. For instance, the B.A. program has an approximate first-year fee of ₹5800/-, and M.A. is around ₹6100/-. Online MBA programs are also available, starting from ₹5000 onwards.
