Community Health Officer Recruitment Process and Timeline
The recruitment process for Community Health Officer positions commenced with the online application period, which concluded on 14 November 2025. After that, hall tickets for the written examination were released on 21 August 2026, and the examination itself was conducted on 25 August 2026. The results of this examination were then published on 22 September 2026.
The selection process is based on a written test and subsequent document verification. The written examination comprised 100 objective multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 100 marks, and had a duration of 120 minutes. There was no negative marking for incorrect answers, and the exam was conducted in both English and Marathi languages. Document Verification Schedule and Required Documents
The document verification (DV) round is a crucial step for candidates whose names appear on the merit list. This phase is scheduled to take place from 12 to 16 October 2026. Candidates must attend the DV round with all original documents and certificates for verification. The merit list has been prepared category-wise and is available on the official NHM Maharashtra website.
Essential documents for verification include educational and professional qualification certificates, mark sheets, proof of identity, date of birth certificate, Maharashtra domicile certificate, and caste or category certificates if applicable. Eligibility Criteria and Application Details
To be eligible for the Community Health Officer posts, applicants were required to hold a B.Sc Nursing or an equivalent qualification. The age limit for applicants was set between 18 and 45 years. The application fee varied based on the candidate’s category and domicile.
Candidates belonging to UR, BC, EBC & EWS categories, and those applying from outside Maharashtra, paid an application fee of Rs. 500. For SC/ST candidates of Maharashtra domicile, all female applicants, and Persons with Disabilities (PH), the application fee was Rs. 125. The merit list was prepared based on the marks scored in the written examination, with preference given to older candidates in case of a tie in marks, as per recruitment rules.
