Concurrent KEA Activities: AYUSH NEET UG Counselling

In parallel with the M.Sc Nursing exam postponement, the KEA has opened the option entry facility for Round 1 of UG AYUSH counselling. The deadline for candidates to enter their options for AYUSH NEET UG Round 1 counselling is October 12, 2026. Candidates must log in using their CET number to access this facility. It has been clarified that fees paid for other courses will not be adjusted for AYUSH NEET UG admissions.

The Ministry of Ayush, established on November 9, 2014, has overseen significant growth in AYUSH medical education infrastructure. Between 2021 and 2024, the total number of AYUSH colleges increased by 23%, from 789 to 971. Concurrently, the total admission capacity grew by 25%, reaching 79,593, and permitted seats saw a 43% increase to 72,490.

As of April 2024, there were 541 Ayurveda colleges and 277 Homoeopathy colleges across the country. For the 2024-25 academic year, 60,890 students were admitted against 63,073 permitted undergraduate seats in ASU&H (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani & Homoeopathy) courses. Specifically, Ayurveda filled 39,952 out of 40,136 permitted seats in the same academic year.

AYURGYAN Scheme and Outsourcing Services

Central spending under the AYURGYAN scheme, which supports AYUSH education, has seen a substantial increase. Allocations rose from ₹8.42 crore in the 2021-22 financial year to ₹48.5 crore in 2024-25, reflecting a significant boost in funding for the sector.
