The updated structure for VITEEE 2027 introduces sectional timers, a reduced number of questions, and a revised marking scheme, marking a shift from the previous examination format. Over two lakh students typically apply for VITEEE, making these changes relevant for prospective B.Tech admissions.

Revised VITEEE 2027 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

VITEEE 2027 will be a computer-based test (CBT) with a total duration of two hours. The question paper will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a total of 400 marks. A key change is the introduction of sectional timers for each part of the examination. The marking scheme awards +4 marks for each correct answer and deducts -1 mark for each incorrect answer, with no penalty for unattempted questions. This negative marking system, first introduced last year, emphasizes accuracy over attempting all questions.

For candidates opting for the MPCEA (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Aptitude) stream, the exam sections will include 40 questions in Mathematics, 25 in Physics, 25 in Chemistry, 5 in English, and 5 in Aptitude. Similarly, BPCEA (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, Aptitude) candidates will have 40 questions in Biology, 25 in Physics, 25 in Chemistry, 5 in English, and 5 in Aptitude. The question paper will be exclusively in English. The detailed syllabus for VITEEE 2027 is available on the official website, vit.ac.in, and candidates are advised to refer to NCERT textbooks for preparation.
