NTA Updates provide clarity on JEE Main attempts for students after 12th in 2025. They are allowed a maximum of 6 attempts over three consecutive years.

  • Eligibility window spans 2025, 2026, and 2027.Two sessions per year: January and April.Improvement or compartment exams do not increase attempt limits.
  • Students can appear in both sessions each year, totaling 6 attempts. If a student fails to achieve the desired rank in 2026, they can try again in 2027.
  • Attempts must be within three consecutive years after passing 12th.No restriction on skipping a year within the eligibility window.
  • Eligibility rules apply uniformly across all students, regardless of their passing year. Students passing in 2024 or 2025 have the same attempt limits.
  • Three-year window designed for adequate preparation time.Eligibility based on passing or appearing for Class 12.
  • Students failing in 2025 but passing supplementary exams remain eligible for JEE Main in 2026. They have 6 attempts over 2026, 2027, and 2028.
