Fake Circular on Class 12 English Exam Clarified

CBSE has clarified that the Class 12 English board exam will not be conducted on a new date, dismissing a recently circulated notice claiming a change in the schedule. A circular that was widely shared on social media, purportedly issued by the board, stated that the Class 12 English exam had been rescheduled. However, CBSE officials have confirmed that the circular is fake.

The board has urged students and parents not to trust or circulate unverified information. According to CBSE, any official change in the Class 12 English board exam schedule will be announced only through the board’s official website and verified social media handles.

Why the Class 12 English Board Exam Was Rescheduled

CBSE rescheduled the Class 12 English exam for its affiliated schools in the Middle East due to the prevailing regional situation and safety concerns. Earlier, the board had postponed certain CBSE Class 12 board exams scheduled between March 9 and March 11 in countries such as:

  • Bahrain

  • Iran

  • Kuwait

  • Oman

  • Qatar

  • Saudi Arabia

  • United Arab Emirates

The revised schedule confirmed that the Class 12 English board exam will now be conducted on March 16, 2026, for students in these overseas centres.

After the fake circular circulated online, CBSE advised and urged parents, schools as well as students to stay cautious about any misinformation coming their way related to the Class 12 English exam and other papers in the CBSE Board Exams 2026.

The board emphasized that:
