According to the official NBEMS notice, the minimum qualifying criteria have been significantly lowered compared to the original standards outlined in the NEET-PG 2025 Information Bulletin. Candidates should note that NEET-PG 2025 ranks, declared on August 19, 2025, remain unchanged.

  • General/EWS: Reduced from 50th percentile (cut-off score 276 out of 800) to 7th percentile (revised cut-off score 103).
  • General PwBD: Reduced from 45th percentile (cut-off score 255) to 5th percentile (revised cut-off score 90).
  • SC/ST/OBC (including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC): Reduced from 40th percentile (cut-off score 235) to 0th percentile (revised cut-off score -40).

This adjustment allows candidates from reserved categories who scored as low as -40 marks (accounting for negative marking) to become eligible for the third round of counselling.

Key Highlights of the Revision

The revision applies specifically to eligibility for the third round of NEET-PG 2025 counselling. The authority has emphasized the following points:

  • Ranks published on August 19, 2025, are final and unaffected by this change.
  • Candidature remains provisional and subject to verification of eligibility criteria, including aggregate marks in MBBS/FMGE examinations, Face ID, or biometric checks at the time of admission.
  • Information provided in the application form for tie-breaking purposes will be verified; discrepancies may lead to cancellation of candidature.
  • Any use of unfair means at any stage will result in appropriate penal action by NBEMS, MCC, or the counselling authority.

The authority has not announced further details yet on the exact schedule for the third round or registration reopening dates. Candidates are advised to monitor the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in for the latest updates on the counselling process.
