About Nehru Gram Bharati University
Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) is a deemed university located in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, India. The foundation stone of this institution was laid on 26th July 1962 by the late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India, at his village near Jamunipur-Kotwa within his Phulpur Parliamentary constituency. The university was established with the vision to provide quality higher education in rural India.
The institution was granted Deemed to be University status on 27th June 2008 through the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development notification under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956. With this notification, the former Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate College was elevated to university status. The university is recognized by UGC and approved by statutory bodies including AICTE, BCI (Bar Council of India), and RCI. It has been accredited with ‘B+’ grade by NAAC.
NGBU offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various faculties including Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Management, Computer Applications, Library Science, and Music.
