PSEB 10th & 12th Revaluation & Rechecking Process Underway; Apply Till May 30
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has started the revaluation and rechecking process for Class 10 and Class 12 board examination results 2026. Students who are not satisfied with their marks can now apply online through the official website of the board. The last date to submit applications for rechecking or revaluation is May 30, 2026.
The board has opened the application window shortly after announcing the Matric and Senior Secondary examination results. Thousands of students across Punjab are expected to apply for scrutiny of their answer sheets in the coming days.
According to the official notification, only online applications will be accepted. Students must complete the form submission and fee payment process before the deadline to avoid rejection of applications.
What is PSEB Rechecking and Revaluation?
Many students often get confused between rechecking and revaluation. Both processes are different and serve different purposes.
Rechecking refers to verifying whether all answers have been checked properly, marks have been added correctly, and the marks have been transferred accurately to the final marksheet. During rechecking, officials do not re-evaluate the quality of answers. They only check for technical errors in marking.
Revaluation, on the other hand, involves a fresh evaluation of the answer sheet. In this process, the examiner reviews the answers again and checks whether the student deserved more or fewer marks. Marks may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged after revaluation.
This facility is especially useful for students who feel their marks do not match their performance in the examination.
Last Date to Apply
PSEB has clearly mentioned that the last date for applying for rechecking and revaluation is May 30, 2026. Students are advised not to wait until the final day because the website may experience heavy traffic near the deadline.
The process began in the middle of May soon after the declaration of the board results. Students now have a limited period to complete the formalities.
Rechecking and Revaluation Fee Details
Students are required to pay separate fees for rechecking and revaluation services.
The board has fixed the following fee structure:
- Rechecking Fee: Rs 500 per answer sheet
- Revaluation Fee: Rs 1000 per answer sheet
The payment must be made online using available digital payment methods. Applications without fee payment will not be accepted.
Students should carefully decide which subjects they want to apply for because the fees are charged separately for each paper.
Who Can Apply?
Students of both Class 10 and Class 12 who appeared for the PSEB February/March 2026 board examinations can apply for rechecking or revaluation.
However, the board has clarified that only theory papers are eligible for revaluation. Practical examination papers cannot be re-evaluated.
Students who are confident that they performed much better than the marks awarded may consider applying for revaluation. Those who simply want to ensure that there are no totaling or marking mistakes can opt for rechecking.
How to Apply Online
The Punjab School Education Board has made the entire process online to ensure convenience for students.
Here are the steps students need to follow:
Step 1: Visit the Official Website
Students need to visit the official Punjab School Education Board website.
Step 2: Open Rechecking/Revaluation Link
On the homepage, students should look for the rechecking or revaluation section related to Matric and Senior Secondary examinations.
Step 3: Login Using Details
Students will need their roll number and reference number to log into the portal.
Step 4: Select Subjects
After logging in, students can select the subjects for which they want rechecking or revaluation.
Step 5: Pay the Required Fee
The next step is online fee payment. Students should ensure the payment is completed successfully.
Step 6: Submit the Form

What Will Be Checked During Revaluation?
During the revaluation process, examiners may verify several important aspects of the answer sheet. These include:
- Totaling errors
- Unchecked answers
- Incorrect transfer of marks
- Mistakes during evaluation
- Calculation-related errors
If any issue is found during the review, the marks may be updated accordingly.
Can Marks Increase or Decrease?
Yes, students should understand that marks can increase, decrease, or remain unchanged after revaluation.
The board has clearly stated that the revised marks after revaluation will be treated as final. Once the process is completed, students cannot challenge the revised marks further.
This is why students are advised to apply carefully and only if they genuinely believe there may have been an evaluation issue.
Importance of Revaluation for Students
Board examination marks play an important role in higher education admissions and future academic opportunities. Even a small increase in marks can improve overall percentage and eligibility for certain courses or colleges.
For Class 10 students, improved marks may help during admission to preferred streams in Class 11. For Class 12 students, higher marks can strengthen applications for undergraduate admissions in universities and colleges.
Because of this, many students choose to apply for revaluation every year after board results are declared.
PSEB Results 2026
PSEB declared the Class 10 and Class 12 results earlier this month. The results were released online on the official website of the board.
Students checked their marks using their roll numbers. Soon after the declaration of results, the board activated the rechecking and revaluation portal for students seeking corrections or review of their answer sheets.
The board also released merit lists and result statistics for both Matric and Senior Secondary examinations.
Expected Date of Revaluation Results
While the board has not officially announced the exact date for revaluation results, previous trends suggest that revised results may be released within a few weeks after the application window closes.
Students should regularly check the official website for updates regarding the announcement of revised marks.
Important Instructions for Students
Students applying for revaluation or rechecking should keep some important points in mind:
- Apply before May 30, 2026
- Double-check subject selection before submission
- Keep payment receipt safely
- Use correct roll number and reference details
- Understand that marks may decrease as well
- Revaluation is only available for theory papers
- Final revised marks will be considered official
These instructions can help students avoid mistakes during the application process.
Growing Trend of Revaluation Applications
In recent years, more students have been applying for rechecking and revaluation after board examination results. Increased competition in admissions and high cut-offs at colleges have made every mark important.
Experts say that online evaluation systems have improved transparency, but occasional errors in totaling or marking can still happen. Rechecking and revaluation give students an opportunity to ensure fairness in the evaluation process.
Educational boards across India, including CBSE and state boards, now provide structured post-result review systems to help students address concerns related to evaluation.
