How to Register for SET 2026?

How to Register for SET 2026?

With the server traffic expected to spike in the final 48 hours, aspirants are advised to complete their applications immediately. Follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth registration:

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to set-test.org and click on the “Register Now” button.

  2. Fill in Basic Details: Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and a valid email ID. You will receive an OTP for verification.

  3. Upload Documents: Keep a scanned passport-size color photograph ready (size between 10 KB and 5 MB).

  4. Select Test Cities: You can choose up to three preferred test cities. Choose wisely, as these cannot be changed later.

  5. Payment of Fees: Pay the entrance test fee of INR 2250 per test. If you wish to appear for both Test 1 and Test 2, you must pay for both.

  6. Institute Registration: Crucially, you must also pay a program registration fee of INR 1000 for each institute/college you are applying to (e.g., SCMS Pune, SICSR).

Why Should You Consider Taking Both Tests?

This year, SIU continues its student-friendly policy of allowing candidates to appear for the SET exam twice.

If a candidate opts for both the May 2 and May 10 sessions, the higher score of the two will be considered for the final percentile calculation. This “best-of-two” approach provides a safety net against any technical glitches or “bad exam days.”

Eligibility Criteria at a Glance

Before you hit submit, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: You must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board.

  • Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates).

  • Awaiting Results: If you are currently appearing for your Class 12 exams in April 2026, you are eligible to apply provisionally.

  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for the SET exam, promoting lifelong learning.

Final Checklist Before the Deadline

As the April 15 deadline looms, double-check your application for any typos. The university has strictly noted that no changes will be permitted once the registration is submitted. Ensure that the “Institute Registration” fee is paid; simply paying the SET exam fee does not make you eligible for admission to individual colleges.
