SLAT Next Steps: Personal Interview and Merit Lists
Qualified candidates based on SLAT scores are eligible for the SLAT 2026 Personal Interview (PI), which is now the key selection component following the removal of the Written Ability Test (WAT). If a candidate appeared in both Test 1 (December 20, 2025) and Test 2 (December 28, 2025), the best score is considered for shortlisting. Admissions are institute-specific, with candidates able to apply to a maximum of four Symbiosis Law Schools.
Key tentative dates for PI and merit list processes include:
- SLS Pune: Shortlist on January 21, 2026; Online PI from January 29 to February 7, 2026; Merit list on February 12, 2026
- SLS Noida: Shortlist on January 20, 2026; Online PI from January 30 to February 5, 2026; Merit list on February 12, 2026
- SLS Hyderabad: Shortlist on January 21, 2026; Online PI from January 31 to February 6, 2026; Merit list on February 16, 2026
- SLS Nagpur: Merit list on February 10, 2026
Shortlisted candidates must complete slot booking, document upload, and download PI call letters as per the respective schedules. Required documents for PI include Class 10 and 12 marksheets, identity proof, SLAT scorecard, admit card, Letter of Recommendation, and Statement of Purpose.
SLAT Expected Cutoffs and Admission Insights
Expected cutoffs for shortlisting to PI vary by institute, influenced by factors such as number of candidates, exam difficulty (reported as moderate to easy), available seats, performance trends, and reservation policies. Approximate expected marks for consideration include:
- SLS Pune: 40+ marks (good attempts 45+)
- SLS Noida: 32+ marks (good attempts 43+)
- SLS Hyderabad: 28+ marks (good attempts 42+)
- SLS Nagpur: 25+ marks (good attempts 40+)
These are indicative based on previous trends and expert analysis; official cutoffs are not released by SIU, and final merit depends on combined SLAT and PI performance.
