The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) will begin the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for the Head Constable (Ministerial) Recruitment Exam 2026 from January 28, 2026. The physical tests will be conducted at multiple centres across the country and mark the first stage of the recruitment process.

Candidates who have applied for the post are advised to check their schedules carefully and report to the allotted centres as mentioned on their admit cards.

SSB Head Constable PET & PST 2026: What the Tests Include

The Physical Standard Test (PST) checks candidates’ height, chest measurement (for male candidates), and other physical parameters as prescribed in the notification. The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) includes activities such as running, which candidates must complete within the given time limit.

Both PET and PST are qualifying in nature. Candidates who fail to meet the required standards will not be allowed to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
