UGC NET December 2025 Subject-Wise Exam Schedule Released: NTA Announces Date Sheet for 85 Subjects
- The NTA released the subject-wise examination schedule for UGC NET December 2025, covering all 85 subjects.
- The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, in two daily shifts.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the subject-wise examination schedule for UGC NET December 2025. As per the public notice dated December 17, 2025, the UGC NET December 2025 examination will be conducted from December 31, 2025 to January 7, 2026 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various examination centres in the country.
The detailed schedule covers all 85 subjects for which UGC NET is conducted. Candidates who have successfully registered for the examination can now check the exact date and shift for their respective subjects. The exam will be conducted in two shifts daily – Shift 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Shift 2 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Subject-Wise Exam Schedule Highlights
On December 31, 2025, the examination will be conducted only in the morning shift for subjects including Law, Social Work, Telugu, Tourism Administration and Management, Spanish, Prakrit, Kashmiri, Konkani, and several others. No examination has been scheduled for the afternoon shift on this date.
January 1, 2026 being New Year’s Day, no examinations will be conducted. The exam will resume from January 2, 2026 onwards in both shifts and will continue till January 7, 2026.

City Intimation Slip Released
NTA has also released the City Intimation Slip for UGC NET December 2025 on December 21, 2025. Candidates can download their city slip from the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in using their application number, password, and security pin. The city slip informs candidates about the city where their examination centre is located, helping them make travel arrangements in advance.
Admit Card Expected Soon
The UGC NET December 2025 Admit Card is expected to be released in the last week of December 2025, a few days before the commencement of examinations. Candidates will be able to download their admit card from the official NTA website using their login credentials. The admit card will contain details such as candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam centre address, date, shift, and reporting time.
UGC NET December 2025 Exam Pattern
The UGC NET examination consists of two papers conducted in a single session without any break:

The marking scheme awards 2 marks for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The medium of question paper is English and Hindi, except for language papers.
Important Instructions for Candidates
Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre. No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre on a date and timing other than that allotted to them in their admit card.
Electronic devices including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and calculators are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least one hour before the scheduled time.
About UGC NET Examination
The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted by NTA to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.
