UPSC Notification 2026 Delayed: Civil Services and Indian Forest Service Exam Notice Postponed
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the release of the UPSC notification 2026 for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 and the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2026, which was originally scheduled to be issued on January 14, 2026.
In an official notice, the commission cited administrative reasons for the delay and stated that the revised date for the UPSC notification will be announced in due course. The postponement impacts aspirants preparing for recruitment to prestigious services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, and other Group A and Group B posts through the three-stage selection process comprising the Preliminary, Main, and Interview examinations.
Is the UPSC 2026 Notification Postponed?
According to the official notice published on the UPSC website (upsc.gov.in), the UPSC notification 2026, which was expected to provide details on vacancies, eligibility criteria, application procedure, syllabus, and examination pattern, will not be released on the scheduled date.
The commission stated, “The Notification of Civil Services Examination, 2026 and Indian Forest Service Examination, 2026, scheduled to be notified on 14.01.2026, has now been postponed due to administrative reasons and the same will be notified in due course.”
At present, the UPSC has not shared any information regarding the revised release date of the UPSC notification or changes to the application window.
Exam Schedule Remains Unchanged
Despite the delay in the UPSC notification 2026, the commission has clarified that the examination schedule remains unchanged as per the UPSC Annual Calendar 2026.
