Eligibility Criteria for Design Courses

For undergraduate design courses, students who have passed or appeared for Class 12 from CBSE, ICSE, IB, a State Board, or NIOS are eligible to apply. In addition, Class 11 students may participate in the AIEED 2027 process and secure direct admission in the 2027 session after successfully clearing the counselling stage.

For postgraduate design courses, graduates from any discipline of a recognised university are eligible. Students in their final year of graduation in 2027 can also apply for these postgraduate programmes. The courses offered include Fashion Design, Jewellery Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Communication and Graphic Design, Digital Design and Photography, BBA in Design, and a Foundation Programme in Design.

Admission Stages and Evaluation Focus

The admission process for AIEED 2027 comprises five stages. These stages include submitting the online AIEED Application Form, uploading a Portfolio of Abilities (PoA) and Statement of Purpose (SoP), attending an Online Interaction and Counselling round, appearing for an On Campus Situation Test and Group Discussion, and finally, receiving the result and admission offer on the same day. The AIEED screening, which was launched in 2010 and converted to an online format in 2011, focuses on assessing ‘ATTITUDE’ and ‘COMPREHENSION & COMMUNICATION SKILL’.

This evaluation approach aims to discover the candidate’s thinking, attitude, and approach rather than solely focusing on skills or knowledge. It emphasizes openness to learn, perseverance, focus, and toughness in creative problem-solving. For the AIEED 2026 cycle, the application process began on November 1, 2025, with the exam held from December 15 to 20, 2025. Candidates aged 16 years and above were eligible for the International Undergraduate level course based on Pearson-Edexcel norms.
