The Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) is set to conduct the KMAT 2026 examination tomorrow, Sunday, September 20, 2026. This all-India entrance test supports admissions to MBA, PGDM, and MCA courses in over 189 AICTE-approved and university-affiliated management institutes across Bangalore and Karnataka.

The examination will be a home-based online remote proctored test, with a duration of two hours. It is being held in more than 10 cities across Karnataka and other parts of the country, following the conclusion of online registrations on September 6, 2026, and the release of admit cards.

KMAT 2026 Karnataka Exam Schedule and Format

The KMAT 2026 for Karnataka admissions is structured into two shifts tomorrow. The MCA exam will be conducted from 10 AM to 12 PM, while the MBA exam is scheduled for the afternoon, from 2 PM to 4 PM. A practice test for candidates was held on September 17 and 18, 2026, to familiarise them with the online remote proctored format.

The KMAT (Karnataka) exam comprises 120 questions, with each correct answer awarding 1 mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses. The entire examination will be conducted in English. Candidates are required to have completed three years of undergraduate or postgraduate study with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for SC/ST categories, to be eligible. Final-year students are also permitted to apply.

KMAT Kerala 2026 Overview and Differences

In parallel, the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) in Kerala organises the KMAT Kerala exam for MBA admissions in the state. The KMAT Kerala 2026 Session II exam was held on May 31, 2026, with its admit card released on May 25, 2026, and results expected in June 2026. Session I of KMAT Kerala was conducted on February 22, 2026.

The KMAT Kerala exam is a computer-based test (CBT) with a duration of three hours, featuring 180 multiple-choice questions across four sections. Unlike the Karnataka version, the KMAT Kerala exam also has no negative marking. It is conducted across 14 cities in Kerala. The application fee for KMAT Kerala is ₹1,000 for General/OBC candidates and ₹500 for SC candidates, while the KMAT (Karnataka) application fee is ₹873 per course.

Instructions for KMAT 2026 Candidates

Candidates appearing for the KMAT 2026 (Karnataka) must download their admit card and carefully follow all instructions provided. For the home-based online remote proctored test, students are permitted to carry only a blank sheet of paper for rough work, which must be shown to the proctor. Attention to the invigilator’s instructions on the test day is crucial.

Aspirants for KMAT Kerala, if applicable, are required to have their printed admit card, a valid government-issued photo ID (original and photocopy), and a printout of their application form. They must reach the exam hall at least one hour before the examination commences and read all instructions on the question paper before attempting it.
