ITBP Head Constable recruitment 2026: apply for 37 posts by October 27

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) has initiated a recruitment drive for 37 Head Constable posts, with online applications commencing on September 28, 2026. This recruitment aims to fill positions for Head Constable (Education & Stress Counsellor) and Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) within the organization. The ITBP, a Central Armed Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, specializes in high-altitude operations and is deployed for border guarding duties along the India-China border.

Vacancy Details and Eligibility Criteria

The recruitment drive targets a total of 37 Head Constable posts. Specifically, 16 positions are available for Head Constable (Education & Stress Counsellor), while 21 posts are designated for Head Constable (Motor Mechanic).

For the Head Constable (Education & Stress Counsellor) role, candidates are required to possess a degree with Psychology or a degree with a Bachelor of Education/Teaching qualification. The age limit for this post is set between 20 and 25 years. For the Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) position, applicants must have passed 10+2. Application Process and Fees

The application process is entirely online and must be completed through the ITBP’s official recruitment portal, recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in. The registration window opened on September 28, 2026, and will close on October 27, 2026.

An application fee of Rs. 100/- is applicable for male candidates belonging to the Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories. Candidates from Scheduled Caste and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from paying this fee. fees paid through any mode other than online will not be accepted.

Selection Procedure and Examination Details

The selection process for these Head Constable posts will involve multiple stages, beginning with a recruitment test. This will be followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and a Physical Standard Test (PST). The written examination will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. For Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) applicants, the questions in the written examination will be of 12th standard.
