GPAT: Apply for M.Pharm 2026 admissions at Ponda College

Ponda Education Society’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy in Ponda, Goa, has commenced admissions for its Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) programmes for the academic year 2026, accepting Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) scores. The private institution, established in 2007, is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and is affiliated with Goa University.

The college, led by Principal Dr. S. N. Mamle Desai, offers M.Pharm specialisations in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutics. Each programme has an intake capacity of 15 seats, with a total of 30 postgraduate seats available. The M.Pharm course spans two years, structured into four semesters.

M.Pharm Eligibility and Admission Process

To be eligible for M.Pharm admissions, candidates are required to have passed the Bachelor of Pharmacy examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Qualification in the GPAT examination is a primary requirement for admission. However, if GPAT-qualified candidates are not available, the college will consider candidates who have passed B.Pharm from universities or colleges outside Goa.

Any remaining vacant seats after the initial round will also be offered to eligible candidates holding a B.Pharm degree from institutions outside Goa. The academic session for M.Pharm is divided into four semesters, each lasting six months, or as directed by regulatory bodies such as PCI, AICTE, or Goa University. Students must maintain at least 75% attendance in lectures and practicals for each subject to be eligible for examinations.

The M.Pharm (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) course has a fee structure of ₹3.04 Lakhs. The college ensures that institutions processing admissions based on GPAT merit operate under the governance of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Undergraduate B.Pharm Programmes and Seat Distribution

Besides its postgraduate offerings, Ponda Education Society’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy also provides a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) undergraduate course with a total intake of 100 seats. The B.Pharm programme is a four-year course, which includes one month of industrial training.

Admission to 75+5 seats for the B.Pharm course is conducted through the Directorate of Technical Education, Alto – Porvorim. An additional 25 B.Pharm seats are reserved under the Management Quota, with admissions for these seats handled directly at the college office. Eligibility for B.Pharm requires applicants to have passed Standard XII with Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics or Biology, along with a valid score or rank in JEE – MAIN or NEET. The 10% reservation for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) for B.Pharm admissions has been operational since the academic year 2021-22.

Comparison with Other Pharmacy Institutions and Upcoming Exams

Goa College of Pharmacy, a government institution situated in Panaji, established in 1963, is also affiliated with Goa University and accredited by PCI and AICTE. It was ranked 89th in the NIRF 2025 rankings. Ponda Education Society’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy is one of the institutions in Goa contributing to pharmacy education.

Several other pharmacy entrance examinations are ongoing or scheduled. The RUHS Pharmacy Admission Test has counselling ongoing from 23 September 2026 to 29 September 2026. The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Pharma Aptitude Test (UPESPAT) is scheduled for 29 September 2026, conducted online. The KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research All India Entrance Test (KAHER-AIET) and the Chhattisgarh Pre Pharmacy Test (CG PPHT) have upcoming dates to be notified or scheduled for May 2027, respectively.
