Exam Structure and Eligibility Criteria
The MICAT exam is an online, computer-based test with a duration of 135 minutes (2 hours 15 minutes), conducted entirely in English. It comprises three main sections: a Psychometric Test, a Descriptive Test, and an Aptitude Test. The Aptitude Test further includes sections on Divergent-Convergent Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and General Awareness.
A critical aspect of the selection process is the Psychometric Test, which candidates must pass to be considered for further evaluation. Also, candidates need to secure a minimum of 50% marks in the Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR) section. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer in the QA, VA, GA, and DCR sections.
For eligibility, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification recognized by the AIU. Final year bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply. Alongside the MICAT score, candidates must possess a valid score in CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or GMAT (from 2024 onwards) for admission to the PGDM/PGDM-C programs.
Selection Process and Seat Intake
The final selection for MICA’s PGDM and PGDM-C programs is a detailed process that takes into account multiple factors. These include performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT performance, Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI), academic record, and other profile factors. The GE & PI process is expected to take place in March 2027 for both MICAT phases.
MICA offers a total of 180 seats for the PGDM-C program and 60 seats for the PGDM program. The institution also offers scholarships across several programs for eligible students, though the FPM program has a full fee waiver and stipend instead of a scholarship.
