JAM 2026 Admit Card Out: IIT Bombay Activates Hall Ticket Download Link
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, the organising institute for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026 under the Ministry of Education, has released the admit cards for the national-level postgraduate entrance examination on January 13, 2026. Candidates who applied for admission to MSc, MSc-PhD dual degree, and other postgraduate programmes at IITs, IISc, and participating institutes can now download their hall tickets from the official portal joaps.iitb.ac.in.
JAM 2026 Exam Date, Subjects, and Test Pattern
The JAM 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2026, in two shifts across various centres in India. The test will cover seven subjects: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, and Physics, with the duration set at three hours for each paper. According to the official notification issued by IIT Bombay, the admit card contains essential information including the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, examination centre address, reporting time, and instructions for the computer-based test.
Steps to Download the JAM 2026 Admit Card
Candidates can access and download their admit cards through the following procedure:
- Visit the official JOAPS portal at joaps.iitb.ac.in.
- Log in using the application number and password created during registration.
- Navigate to the admit card download section under the candidate dashboard.
- Verify all details displayed on the hall ticket.
- Download and take a printout of the admit card for examination day.
The authority has emphasised that candidates must carry the printed admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre. No candidate will be permitted entry without these documents.
JAM 2026 Exam Day Guidelines and Instructions
The JAM 2026 test will be conducted in English medium only, with a total of 60 questions carrying 100 marks, divided into multiple-choice questions, multiple-select questions, and numerical answer type questions. Negative marking applies only to multiple-choice questions. The conducting institute has instructed candidates to report at the examination centre at least one hour before the scheduled start time and follow all COVID-19 protocols as per government guidelines.
IIT Bombay has not announced further details yet regarding the release of the response sheet, provisional answer key, or final result declaration timeline for JAM 2026.
