NEET UG Exam 2026: NTA Releases Important Advisory

NEET UG Exam 2026: NTA Releases Important Advisory; Check Admit Card Date and Exam Day Guidelines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a critical advisory for the millions of students appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026. As the countdown to the country’s biggest medical entrance exam begins, the NTA has finalized the schedule for the hall tickets and warned candidates against misinformation circulating on social media.

With over 26 lakh students registered this year, the competition for MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH seats is expected to be tougher than ever. Here is a breakdown of the latest updates and the mandatory guidelines every aspirant must follow.

NEET UG 2026: Admit Card Release Date Confirmed

According to the latest notification, the NTA will officially release the NEET UG 2026 Admit Cards on April 26, 2026.

While the City Intimation Slips were already released on April 12, the admit card is the most vital document for entry into the exam hall. It will contain specific details including:

  • Exact Exam Centre Address

  • Roll Number and Application Number

  • Reporting Time

  • Mandatory Instructions and Dress Code

Candidates can download their hall tickets from the official portal: neet.nta.nic.in.

NTA Warning: Stay Away from “Paper Leak” Scams

In a stern move, the NTA has cautioned students and parents against fraudulent channels, particularly on Telegram and WhatsApp, claiming to have access to the 2026 question paper.

The agency clarified that these are “scams designed to exploit the anxiety of students.” The NTA reiterated its commitment to a transparent and fair examination process, noting that strict legal action is being initiated against those spreading such misinformation. Students are advised to rely only on the official NTA website for any exam-related news.

Exam Day Schedule and Pattern

The NEET UG 2026 exam will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Unlike some rumors suggesting a shift to hybrid modes, the NTA has confirmed the exam will remain in the traditional Pen-and-Paper (Offline) format.

Feature Details
Exam Date May 3, 2026
Timing 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM (3 hours 20 minutes)
Total Marks 720 Marks
Questions 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Subjects Physics (45), Chemistry (45), Biology (90)

The NTA has also highlighted that nearly 99.2% of candidates have been allotted their first-choice city, a move aimed at reducing travel stress and ensuring students can focus entirely on their performance.

Essential Guidelines for Candidates

To ensure a smooth experience on May 3, the NTA’s advisory lists several “Must-Dos”.

  1. Printout Requirements: Only physical, color printouts of the Admit Card (all pages) will be accepted. Digital copies on phones will not be allowed inside the center.

  2. Reporting Time: Reach the center at least 2 hours before the exam. The NTA has increased the center opening time to 3 hours prior to ensure thorough checking.

  3. Forbidden Items: Electronic gadgets, calculators, jewelry, and even certain types of clothing are strictly prohibited. Candidates should adhere to the NTA Dress Code mentioned in the information bulletin.

  4. Health Advisory: The NTA has encouraged students to “stay calm and focused” and prioritize their health in these final 10 days of preparation.
