IIT Delhi CEP Launches Batch 4 of Executive Programme in Tech Product Management; Applications Open
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has officially opened applications for the fourth batch of its flagship Executive Programme in Tech Product Management (EPTPM).
Delivered through the instituteโs Continuing Education Programme (CEP) and coordinated by the Department of Management Studies (DMS), the six-month online course aims to bridge the growing skill gap between technology, design, and business strategy in Indiaโs expanding digital economy.
Why is Product Management in High Demand?
Indiaโs technology sector is expanding rapidly, with projections placing its overall industry revenue near $500 billion by 2030. At the same time, India has grown into a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI) talent and software innovation.
However, building successful software applications, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and digital platforms requires more than just skilled software engineers. It requires product managers who can translate complex technical capabilities into intuitive, user-friendly, and commercially viable products.
Modern tech companies no longer look for purely technical leads or traditional business managers. Instead, they need multi-skilled leaders who understand user psychology, market trends, data analytics, and agile development processes. The EPTPM was created to fill this exact role, preparing professionals to lead cross-functional teams and drive product growth from idea to market launch.
Programme Overview and Learning Structure
The Executive Programme in Tech Product Management spans six months and provides over 145 hours of comprehensive learning. Designed specifically for working professionals, the classes are conducted via live, interactive online sessions on weekends (Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM IST) to help participants balance their work schedules with executive education.
The curriculum is structured across 13 core modules, guiding learners through the entire lifecycle of a tech product:
-
Product Foundations & Ideation: Understanding digital product architecture, defining user pain points, and exploring product lines across IoT, SaaS, and mobile applications.
-
Strategy & Roadmapping: Setting clear business goals, competitor analysis, feature prioritization, and building strategic product roadmaps.
-
Design & User Discovery: Creating seamless user experiences, wireframing, prototyping, and aligning stakeholder expectations.
-
Development & Technical Execution: Working with agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban), writing user stories, reading API documentation, and managing development environments.
-
Data, Analytics & AI Integration: Leveraging tools like SQL, Google Analytics, and Mixpanel to capture user data, track key performance metrics, and use generative AI tools like ChatGPT to automate workflows.
-
Product Marketing & Go-To-Market (GTM): Planning product launches, positioning, customer acquisition, and user retention strategies.
A key highlight of the programme is its focus on practical industry tools. Participants gain hands-on exposure to widely used tools such as JIRA, Figma, Asana, SQL, Mixpanel, and WebEngage.
Capstone Project: Learners complete a practical “Bring Your Own Product” (BYOP) project. This capstone assignment allows participants to apply the concepts they learn to real-world business challenges, build a live product prototype, or design a new feature for an existing company or startup.
What the Leadership Says
Highlighting the importance of modern product leadership, Prof. Biswajita Parida, Associate Professor at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi, stated:
“Technology product management now demands professionals who can convert technical depth into customer value, commercial clarity, and scalable impact. This programme has been designed to help learners strengthen product judgement, work across functions, and use contemporary tools to build market-ready products for a fast-changing digital economy with confidence and purpose.
Who Should Apply?
The programme caters to a broad range of professionals looking to upskill or transition into tech product roles:
-
Aspiring Product Managers: Engineers, software developers, UI/UX designers, and business analysts who want to transition into formal product management roles.
-
