The video encouraged me to explore the programme and consider an opportunity I had not previously known was available.” This discovery proved pivotal in his decision to pursue the Data Science and Applications programme.

Support from ‘Iitm for All’ and TN Volunteers

The ‘IITM For All’ initiative, an inclusive outreach and educational programme by IIT Madras, played a crucial role in J Santhosh’s admission. He reached out to TN Volunteers, an NGO, which provided detailed assistance throughout his application process, training, and preparation for the qualifier examination. Hari Krishnan, Head of Social Initiatives & Outreach at IIT Madras, also provided direct guidance to Santhosh, including a home visit to resolve application-related issues.

Santhosh acknowledged the invaluable support, stating, “I reached out to Tamil Nadu volunteers, a NGO which helped me with the application process. Hari Krishnan sir also visited my home, offered guidance and helped resolve the application-related issue. The volunteers subsequently assisted me with training and preparation for the qualifier examination.” TN Volunteers will continue to support Santhosh by providing in-person assistance, including AI training, and will cover his first-year tuition expenses through the ‘IIT-M for All’ initiative.
