Eligibility and Exam Structure
To be eligible for MICAT 2027, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA from a recognised university. Final-year students are also eligible, provided they complete their degree as per MICA timelines. There is no upper age limit for MICAT 2027.
The MICAT examination is a 135-minute computer-based test comprising three major components: a Psychometric Test, a Descriptive Test, and an Aptitude Test. The Aptitude Test evaluates candidates across four areas: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Divergent-Convergent Reasoning, and General Awareness. The Psychometric Test is a qualifying round, and candidates must clear it to proceed further in the selection process.
Admission Process and Required Scores
For most School of Management programmes, such as PGDM-C and PGDM, a valid CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or GMAT score is mandatory. However, some programmes under the School of Applied Creativity accept MICAT scores alone. Candidates are evaluated on their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT relative to the set cutoff.
Only candidates who successfully clear all three sections of MICAT and meet the CAT/XAT/GMAT cutoffs are shortlisted for the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai for these rounds. The final admission process considers multiple parameters, including performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT, GE, PI, academic profile, and other evaluation criteria.
