NTA revised exam calendar 2026-27 out: check new JEE Main, UGC NET, CUET PG dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on October 26, 2026, released a revised examination calendar for several major entrance and eligibility examinations. This updated schedule, available on the NTA website at nta.ac.in, covers exams slated between December 2026 and April 2027, affecting aspirants for JEE Main, UGC NET, Joint CSIR-UGC NET, CUET PG, and CMAT, among others.

The revision aims to enhance administrative coordination and arrangements for computer-based test centres, as stated by the NTA. It also intends to provide students, coaching centres, and universities with more time to plan applications and exam preparation. This revised calendar supersedes an earlier version published in September 2026.

Revised Dates for Major Entrance and Eligibility Exams

The updated calendar outlines specific dates for key examinations, including the December cycle of UGC NET and Joint CSIR-UGC NET, JEE Main 2027 sessions, CMAT 2027, and CUET PG 2027. The UGC NET December 2026 cycle is now scheduled for December 14-18 and December 21, 2026, spanning six days. The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 cycle will be held on December 19, 22, and December 27, 2026, over three days.

JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is set for January 20-24 and January 28, 2027, a six-day examination window. CMAT 2027 is scheduled for a single day on February 7, 2027. CUET PG 2027 will be conducted across multiple dates in March 2027, specifically March 2-5, 8-9, 12, 15-19, 24-25, and 29-31, 2027, totaling 17 days. JEE Main 2027 Session 2 is scheduled for April 2-7, 2027, also a six-day period.

Other Examinations in the NTA Calendar

Plus the major entrance exams, the NTA’s revised calendar also includes dates for several other examinations. The Rashtriya Indian Military College exam is scheduled for December 6, 2026. SWAYAM exams are set to run from December 8-12, 2026, while the Rashtriya Military Schools exam will be held on December 13, 2026.

For January 2027, the Army Cadets College exam is on January 4, 2027. SHRESHTA (NETS) and NIFT Entrance Examination are both scheduled for January 10, 2027. The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination will take place on January 31, 2027. Later, NITTT (Part 1) is on February 26-27, 2027, and NITTT (Part 2) on March 5 and 7, 2027.

Important Considerations for Candidates

The NTA has clarified that this calendar is not a notification of examination or a confirmation of final dates. Information bulletins and examination-specific notices will be issued separately for each exam. Candidates are advised that the revised NTA examination calendar dates are subject to administrative and logistical changes if required.

For JEE Main 2027 Session 1, registration has already commenced, with the regular application closing on November 22, 2026. Candidates are urged to check the NTA website at nta.ac.in and the respective exam portals for any further announcements and updates, and to rely only on the latest schedule rather than earlier calendars.
