SLAT 2027: Register by Dec 4; exams Dec 19 & 26

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has clarified its admission process for 5-year integrated law courses for the 2027 academic year, confirming that Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS) will not accept Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scores. Instead, prospective students must appear for the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2027.

Registration for SLAT 2027 is currently active and will close on December 4, 2026. The national-level entrance examination is crucial for admission to the four Symbiosis Law School campuses located in Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Nagpur, which collectively offer BA LLB and BBA LLB programs.

SLAT 2027 Examination Details and Timeline

The SLAT 2027 examination will be a computer-based test of 60 minutes duration, comprising 60 questions across five sections: Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is no negative marking. The Writing Ability Test (WAT) has been discontinued for SLAT.

Candidates have the option to appear for both slots of the SLAT 2027 exam, with the university considering the higher score for merit list preparation. The first slot is scheduled for December 19, 2026, and the second for December 26, 2026. The official portal, symbiosis.ac.in, provides further details.

Eligibility and Selection Process for Symbiosis Law Schools

To be eligible for SLAT 2027, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from any recognized board. General/open category candidates are required to have scored a minimum of 45% in their 10+2 exam, while SC/ST candidates need 40%. The final selection process involves a combination of SLAT scores and a Personal Interaction (PI).

SLAT scores are mandatory for shortlisting candidates for the PI round. Candidates who do not clear the SLAT exam will not be called for the Personal Interview. The merit lists for admission are prepared with 70% weightage given to SLAT scores and 30% to the PI performance. Candidates must attend all parts of the PI to be eligible for admission.

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) operates four law schools that accept SLAT scores for admission to their 5-year integrated BA LLB and BBA LLB programs. These campuses are located in Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Nagpur. SLS Pune, established in 1977, is the oldest and flagship campus, known for its competitive cut-offs. SLS Noida, founded in 2010, benefits from its proximity to corporate hubs in the National Capital Region. The newer campuses in Hyderabad (2014) and Nagpur (2019) are noted for their infrastructure and student support.

While CLAT 2027 registration is open from August 3, 2026, to October 31, 2026, for admission to National Law Universities and other participating colleges, Symbiosis Law Schools maintain their independent admission process through SLAT.
