ICAI CA Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 exam dates released: apply by November 16

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced the schedule for the CA Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 examinations on September 23, 2026. This announcement, made in pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, outlines the dates for examinations to be held across India and in overseas cities.

The CA Intermediate January 2027 examinations are set to begin on January 2, 2027, while the CA Foundation exams will commence on January 3, 2027. This detailed schedule allows candidates to plan their preparation according to the paper-wise dates, ensuring they are aware of the timelines for both the examinations and the application process.

Ca Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 Examination Schedule

The CA Intermediate Group 1 papers are scheduled for January 2, January 4, and January 6, 2027. Following this, the CA Intermediate Group 2 examinations will be conducted on January 8, January 10, and January 12, 2027. All Intermediate papers will be three hours long, held from 2 PM to 5 PM IST.

For the CA Foundation course, exams will take place on January 3, January 5, January 7, and January 9, 2027. Foundation Papers 1 and 2 will also be three-hour examinations, from 2 PM to 5 PM IST. Foundation Papers 3 and 4, however, will be two-hour examinations, from 2 PM to 4 PM IST. Candidates will receive 15 minutes of advance reading time from 1:45 PM to 2 PM for all applicable papers, except Foundation Papers 3 and 4. The ICAI has stated that the examination schedule will not be altered even if any examination date is later declared a public holiday.

Application Process and Key Dates

The online application forms for the January 2027 examinations will be accessible on the Self Service Portal (SSP) at https://eservices.icai.org. The submission of these forms will commence on November 3, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete their applications promptly, as the last date for submission without a late fee is November 16, 2026.

For those who miss the initial deadline, a late fee of ₹600 for Indian/Kathmandu Centres or US $10 for Abroad Centres will apply, with the final submission deadline being November 19, 2026. A correction window for changes in examination city or medium will be available from November 20, 2026, to November 22, 2026. Examination fees can be paid online using various methods, including VISA, MASTER, MAESTRO Credit/Debit Card, Rupay Card, Net Banking, or Bhim UPI.

Examination Fees and Overseas Centres

The examination fee for the Intermediate Course at Indian Centres is ₹1500 for a single group and ₹2700 for both groups. For the Foundation Course at Indian Centres, the fee is ₹1500. Overseas centres have different fee structures, with US$325 for a single group Intermediate course and US$500 for both groups (excluding Kathmandu). For Kathmandu (Nepal) Centres, the fee is INR ₹2200 for a single group and INR ₹3400 for both groups.

The January 2027 examinations will be conducted in three overseas cities: Bahrain, Dubai (UAE), and Kathmandu (Nepal). The examination commencement timings for these centres are adjusted to local time, equivalent to 2 PM IST. Specifically, Dubai Centre will start at 12:30 PM local time, Bahrain Centre at 11:30 AM local time, and Kathmandu Centre at 2:15 PM Nepal local time. Candidates for both Foundation and Intermediate examinations have the option to answer papers in either English or Hindi medium. The ICAI reserves the right to withdraw any city or centre at any stage without providing a reason.
