The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Government of Puducherry, began Round 3 registration and choice filling for NEET UG 2026 on September 24, 2026. This round supports admissions to UG NEET-based medical courses for the academic year 2026-2027.
The online process allows eligible candidates to submit their course preferences and provides an option for withdrawal from seats admitted in Round 1 or Round 2. The counselling covers admissions to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and B.V.Sc. & A.H. courses, with seats available under various quotas including Government, Management, Self-Supporting, and NRI.
Round 3 Registration and Choice Filling Details
Round 3 registration, submission of course preferences, and withdrawal of Round 1 or Round 2 admitted seats for UG NEET-based medical courses commenced on September 24, 2026. The entire admission process is conducted online through the CENTAC admission portal, and eligibility is based on NEET UG 2026 scores, along with other conditions specified in the Information Brochure. Candidates must have qualified NEET UG 2026 to participate.
On September 24, 2026, CENTAC also published a revised list of vacancies for B.D.S. – Government Quota (GQ) in Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences, alongside a revised admitted list for the same category and institution. Counselling Schedule and Previous Rounds
The Pondicherry NEET UG Counselling 2026 began with the release of the online application form on July 30, 2026. The deadline for submitting online applications was August 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with a total of 6024 completed applications received for UG NEET courses. The NEET UG 2026 result was released on July 16, 2026. A revised draft merit list for UG NEET courses was published on August 25, 2026, followed by the final merit list on September 1, 2026.
Round 2 counselling registration started on September 8, 2026, with a deadline for registration, fee payment, willingness, and course preference submission set for September 10, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The Round 1 seat resignation deadline was September 11, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The Round 2 provisional allotment list for UG NEET-based courses 2026-2027 was published on September 13, 2026. Seat Availability and Fee Structure
The counselling process by CENTAC supports admissions to various medical courses across different quotas. Seats are available under Government Quota, Management Quota, Self-Supporting Quota, NRI Quota, and other reservation categories. Only NRI candidates, OCI candidates, and wards of NRI/OCI parents are eligible for vacant NRI seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H., as per directions from RIVER (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research).
The fee structure for Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Research Institute follows an interim order dated September 8, 2026, in W.P. No. 15159 of 2026. The approximate seat availability for 2026 across various courses is as follows:

The registration fee for Round 2 varied by quota and category. For Government Quota, GE/EWS/OBC/MBC/BCM/BT candidates paid INR 10,000, while EBC/SC/ST/GSS candidates paid INR 5,000. For Management & NRI quotas, including MQ/NRI/NRI-SP/OCI/OCI-SP/PIO/FN, the registration fee was INR 2,00,000.
Application Statistics and Counselling Process
The total number of completed applications for UG NEET courses stood at 6024. In addition, CENTAC received 12290 applications for UG Non-NEET courses, 55 for UG FINE ARTS, 212 for UG LATERAL ENTRY, 28 for UG B.Arch., and 190 for PG Dental courses. The counselling process includes Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy rounds.
Candidates registered with CENTAC, including those who were allotted seats in Round 1 and either joined or did not join, are eligible to participate in Round 2. For Round 2, candidates were required to submit their course preferences afresh, as preferences from Round 1 became null and void. Sliding was permitted in Round 2, allowing for dynamic vacancies during the allotment process. If a candidate received a new seat in Round 2, their Round 1 seat was automatically cancelled. Candidates who joined their Round 1 seat could resign without forfeiture fee within the prescribed deadline.
