MHT CET 2026 Registration for Second Attempt Begins; Apply by April 16
Registration for the MHT CET 2026 second attempt is open on April 15-16 with a ₹500 late fee; students must use an APAAR ID to apply. The exams for the May session will be held from May 10 to May 16, serving as the final opportunity for 2026 admissions.
The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially reopened the registration window for the MHT CET 2026 second attempt starting today.
This special two-day window is a final opportunity for students who missed the initial registration or those looking to improve their scores in the upcoming entrance exams for Engineering, Pharmacy, and Agricultural courses.
Aspiring candidates can now access the application forms on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org. However, the clock is ticking, as the deadline to complete the process is April 16, 2026, until midnight.
Why the Second Window?
The decision to reopen registrations comes after the CET Cell received numerous requests from students across the state who were unable to complete their applications during the first phase. This year, the MHT CET is being conducted in two sessions, allowing students to leverage their “best of two” scores for the admission process.
Key Dates and Fees
Candidates applying during this extended period should note that a late fee of ₹500 is mandatory for all categories. This fee is in addition to the standard registration charges.
The second attempt exams are scheduled to take place between May 10 and May 16, 2026, covering both the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) groups.
Mandatory Requirements: APAAR ID and DigiLocker
A significant update for the 2026 session is the mandatory integration of the APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry). Before filling out the form, students must:
-
Generate their APAAR ID through DigiLocker.
-
Ensure their Aadhaar authentication is complete.
-
Link these credentials to the CET portal to proceed with the application.
Application Process
To ensure a smooth registration, follow these steps:
-
Step 1: Visit the official portal at
cetcell.mahacet.org. -
Step 2: Register as a new user or log in using your existing credentials if you have already started a profile.
-
Step 3: Complete the Aadhaar authentication and enter your APAAR ID.
-
Step 4: Fill in the required academic and personal details carefully.
-
Step 5: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified format.
-
Step 6: Pay the cumulative fee (Registration + Late Fee) via the online payment gateway.
-
Step 7: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
Important Instructions for Aspirants
The CET Cell has made it clear that no correction window will be provided for this special registration phase. Candidates are advised to double-check every entry—especially subject groups (PCM/PCB) and exam center preferences—before the final submission.
Additionally, students who have already registered for both attempts during the first phase do not need to take any action. This window is strictly for fresh registrations for the second session or for those who only registered for the first session previously and now wish to appear for the second.
Looking Ahead
With the first session of MHT CET 2026 already underway (April 11–20), the second session in May serves as a crucial “improvement round.” For many, this is the last hurdle before the centralized admission process (CAP) begins for Maharashtra’s premier technical institutes
