• For UG Courses (B.Tech/B.Sc): Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Additionally, a minimum of 50% in English is required in both Class 10 and 12.

• Age Limit: For general category male candidates, the upper age limit is usually 25 years (as of August 1, 2026), with relaxations provided for female candidates and reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).

Step-by-Step Application Process

The application process is entirely online and can be completed on the official IMU portal (imu.edu.in).

1. Registration: Visit the official site and create a user ID and password using your email and mobile number.

2. Form Filling: Log in to enter your personal details, academic history, and contact information.

3. Document Upload: You will need to upload scanned copies of your passport-size photo, signature, and Class 10/12 marksheets. Ensure files are in JPG/JPEG format as per the size specifications.

4. Fee Payment: The registration fee is INR 1,000 for General/OBC candidates and INR 700 for SC/ST candidates.

Exam Pattern & Preparation

The IMUCET 2026 will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) lasting three hours. It consists of 200 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Knowledge, and General Aptitude. Notably, there is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer, so accuracy is just as important as speed.
