COMEDK 2026 Counselling: Round 1 Decision Making & Fee Payment Deadline Extended Till 5 PM Today

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has officially extended the deadline for Round 1 decision-making and fee payment for COMEDK UGET 2026 counselling. Candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round of BTech admissions can now exercise their seat options and pay the requisite confirmation fee until 5:00 PM today on the official website, comedk.org.

Earlier, the window for seat acceptance and fee submission was scheduled to close at 3:00 PM. The extension provides essential relief to thousands of engineering aspirants and parents who encountered last-minute server congestion or required additional time to decide on their allotted seats.

Key Highlights of COMEDK 2026 Round 1 Revised Schedule

The Round 1 seat allotment result was declared on July 28, 2026. Following the result declaration, candidates were instructed to complete their decision-making process online. Below is the updated timeline for Round 1 activities:

Event / Activity Initial Deadline Extended Deadline
Round 1 Decision Making & Fee Payment July 31, 2026 (3:00 PM) July 31, 2026 (5:00 PM Today)
Reporting to Allotted College (Accept & Freeze) July 28 to August 3, 2026 (12:00 PM) August 3, 2026 (12:00 PM)
Round 1 Seat Cancellation Window July 28 to August 3, 2026 (3:00 PM) August 3, 2026 (3:00 PM)

Understanding the 4 Decision-Making Options

Candidates accessing the candidate login portal are presented with four distinct choices. Selecting the correct option is vital, as choices cannot be altered once submitted.

  1. Accept & Freeze:

    • Who should choose: Candidates completely satisfied with their allotted seat who do not wish to participate in subsequent rounds.

    • Requirement: Must pay the full college fee online, download the allotment letter, and physically report to the allotted college before August 3, 12:00 PM.

  2. Accept & Upgrade:

    • Who should choose: Candidates satisfied with the current seat but wanting to hold it while trying for higher preferences in Round 2.

    • Requirement: Must pay the total college fee online. If a higher preference is allotted in Round 2, the current seat is automatically canceled; otherwise, the original seat is retained.

  3. Reject & Upgrade:

    • Who should choose: Candidates dissatisfied with the current seat who wish to reject it and move to Round 2 to compete for higher preferences.

    • Requirement: Must pay the fee for the rejected seat to remain eligible for subsequent rounds.

  4. Reject & Withdraw:

    • Who should choose: Candidates not satisfied with the allotment who wish to exit the counselling process entirely.

    • Requirement: No fee payment is required, and the candidate will not be considered for further rounds.

Important Caution: Candidates who fail to select any option before the 5:00 PM deadline will have their allotted seat automatically treated as Reject & Withdraw, effectively disqualifying them from future counselling rounds.
