The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to conduct the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2026 exams soon. This national-level examination is a prerequisite for admission to Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) courses across India, including institutions in Punjab and Phagwara.

The GPAT 2026 results are scheduled to be declared on June 25, 2026. Since 2018, NBEMS has been in charge of conducting the GPAT exam, which acts as a gateway for over 4,436 institutes to select suitable pharmacy graduates for M.Pharm admissions.

GPAT Acceptance and Seat Availability

All institutions in India approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) accept GPAT scores for M.Pharm admissions. Nationally, approximately 39,890 seats are offered for postgraduate pharmacy programs through GPAT, with over 780 AICTE-approved colleges participating in the admission process.

Admission Criteria and Fees at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Admission to all M.Pharm courses at the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is based on a combined merit score. This score is calculated with a 30% weightage given to aggregate marks obtained in the four-year B.Pharm course and a 70% weightage to the GPAT score. Non-GPAT candidates will only be considered if seats remain vacant after all GPAT-qualified candidates have been admitted.

The admission portal for M.Pharm courses at the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is expected to open tentatively in the first week of June each year. Eligibility for M.Pharm at this institution requires 55% marks in B.Pharm from PCI/AICTE approved institutions or universities, along with a valid GPAT score.
