The Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH), Bhiwani, announced on Wednesday that the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) will be conducted on July 26 and 27, 2026. This examination is designed to assess the teaching aptitude of candidates aspiring for positions across different school levels in Haryana.
The state government has approved the HTET, and preparations by the Haryana School Education Board are currently underway. The HTET was not conducted in 2024, a delay attributed by BSEH chairman Pawan Kumar Sharma to vacant positions of board chairman and secretary, both of which have now been filled.
Examination Details and Eligibility
The HTET exam will be conducted in offline mode and is applicable for teaching jobs throughout Haryana. It assesses teaching aptitude for Level 1 (PRT), Level 2 (TGT), and Level 3 (PGT) positions. The examination duration is 150 minutes, comprising 150 multiple-choice questions. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English, except for language subjects.
The application process for this HTET cycle had been completed earlier, and no new applications will be invited. Age criteria and other eligibility conditions will remain unchanged from previous notifications. General category candidates are required to score at least 60 percent marks to qualify. A five percent relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC, BC, and Differently Abled candidates of Haryana domicile.

These measures include the installation of CCTV cameras and mobile signal jammers to prevent the use of electronic devices.
Along with technological safeguards, observers and flying squads will be deployed. The BSEH will appoint one observer at each centre to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination. These steps are intended to uphold the sanctity of the examination process.
Potential Future Changes and November Exam
While the July 2026 exam dates are confirmed, reports suggest the BSEH is planning changes to the OMR sheet system for a potential November exam, possibly involving two OMR sheets. The Board is also considering introducing a fifth option, NOTA (None of the Above), for the November examination. However, these potential changes are not officially confirmed for the July exam.
