JMI Admission 2026-27: Jamia Opens Applications for 49 Distance and Online Courses; Check Details

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially initiated the admission process for 49 distance and online learning programmes for the 2026–27 academic session. Offered through the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), these programmes cater to working professionals, homemakers, and students seeking flexible higher education options via Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) modes.

Interested candidates can submit their online applications on the official portal at admission.jmi.ac.in. The last date to complete registration and form submission is August 10, 2026.

Newly Introduced Online Courses

Expanding its academic portfolio, Jamia’s CDOE has launched two new online programmes for the current academic session:

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biosciences

  2. Master of Business Administration (MBA – Online Mode)

Unlike traditional merit-only admissions, selection for these two newly introduced courses will be conducted based on the candidate’s performance in their qualifying examination followed by an interview session.

Admission Criteria & Selection Procedure

The selection methodology varies depending on the course applied for:

  • Merit-Based Admission: Admission to the majority of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes will be based strictly on merit (marks obtained in the qualifying exam).

  • Interview-Based Admission: Admission to the new B.Sc. Biosciences and MBA (Online) courses will be made on merit plus an interview round scheduled for August 27, 2026.

  • Entrance Examination: Candidates seeking admission into MBA (ODL) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) must appear for an offline entrance test conducted at the Jamia Millia Islamia campus on August 22, 2026. Venue details will be specified on the admit cards.

Eligible candidates can complete their application by following these steps:

  1. Visit Official Site: Go to the Jamia admission portal at admission.jmi.ac.in.

  2. Registration: Click on the CDOE 2026–27 Admission Link and register using a valid email address and phone number.

  3. Fill Application Form: Select the desired programme (ODL or Online mode) and fill in personal, educational, and contact details.

  4. Document Upload: Upload scanned copies of required certificates, photographs, and signatures.

  5. Fee Payment: Submit the registration fee online via debit card, credit card, or net banking.

  6. Form Submission: Review all details before final submission and print a copy for future verification.

According to CDOE Director Prof. Aslam Khan, the centre aims to continuously introduce market-aligned, flexible academic courses that empower learners without compromising quality. Selected candidates will receive email notifications regarding physical document verification between August 31 and September 10, 2026.
