Candidates can access their individual allotment letters and check the status of their seat allocation by following these steps:

1. Visit the Portal: Go to the official website of KEA at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

2. Locate the Link: Navigate to the Admissions section and click on the “DCET 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Result” link.

3. Login: Enter your DCET Application Number or CET Number along with your password or date of birth.

4. View Allotment: Click submit to view the allotted engineering college, allocated branch, category status, and seat type.

5. Download & Save: Download the seat allotment order and take a clear printout for post-allotment procedures.

Post-Allotment Options Explained: Choice 1 to Choice 4

Following the declaration of the Round 1 allotment, candidates are required to select one of four specific choices to confirm their intent. Selecting a choice is mandatory within the prescribed window (July 28 to July 31, 2026).

Important Note: Failing to exercise a choice within the stipulated timeframe will result in the automatic cancellation of the allotted seat, and the candidate will be removed from subsequent rounds of counselling.

• Choice 1 (Accept & Freeze): The candidate is completely satisfied with the allotted seat, accepts the college/branch, pays the fee, and reports to the college for admission. They will not participate in subsequent rounds.

• Choice 2 (Accept & Upgrade): The candidate holds the currently allotted seat provisionally but wishes to participate in Round 2 for higher-preference options. If a higher preference is allotted in Round 2, the previous seat is automatically surrendered.

• Choice 3 (Reject & Continue): The candidate rejects the currently allotted seat but wishes to participate in subsequent counselling rounds for better options.

• Choice 4 (Reject & Exit): The candidate rejects the allotted seat and exits the KEA DCET 2026 counselling process completely.

DCET 2026 Cutoff Trends

Along with the seat allotment results, KEA publishes the category-wise closing ranks (cutoffs) for all participating institutions and engineering branches.

The cutoff marks and closing ranks vary based on multiple factors:

• Total number of candidates who appeared and qualified in DCET 2026.

• Overall difficulty level of the DCET exam.

• Total seat intake available for lateral entry across government and private colleges.

• Reservation criteria including General Merit (GM), SC, ST, and OBC categories (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B), as well as Hyderabad-Karnataka (HK) region seats.

In high-demand disciplines like Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Information Science Engineering (ISE), top engineering colleges in Bengaluru and Mysuru have recorded competitive closing ranks. Candidates who do not secure a seat in Round 1 can analyze the cutoff ranks to re-order their options for Round 2.

Candidates selecting Choice 1 must report to their respective colleges on or before August 4, 2026, along with the following original documents and self-attested photocopies:
