The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to close the choice-filling and choice-locking window for Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling 2026 today, October 22, 2026, at 10 AM. Candidates aspiring for postgraduate medical seats must complete this process through the official website, mcc.nic.in, before the stipulated deadline.

Following the closure of the choice-locking window, the MCC is scheduled to announce the provisional seat allotment result for Round 1 on October 24, 2026. This initial result will provide an opportunity for candidates to raise grievances before the final allotment is issued.

NEET PG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Key Dates and Process

Once the locking window closes, the choices entered by candidates will be auto-locked, and no further modifications or rearrangements of preferences will be permitted.

Applicants who do not enter their choices will not be considered for seat allotment in this round. The seat allotment processing for Round 1 is scheduled for October 22 and 23, 2026. The counselling process covers 50% of All India Quota seats and seats in participating central and deemed universities, with a total of 58,000 MD/MS/DNB seats available.

Post-Allotment Procedures for Candidates

After the provisional result is published and any grievances are addressed, the final allotment result for Round 1 will be issued. College reporting and admission formalities will commence only after the release of this final result. Candidates who are allotted seats must report to their respective institutes between October 26 and November 2, 2026.

The registration window for NEET PG Counselling 2026 Round 1 began on October 12, 2026, and concluded on October 21, 2026, at 12 noon. The last date for fee payment for Round 1 was October 21, 2026, at 3 PM. Seat allotment will be determined based on the application category, submitted preferences, and seat availability. The MCC also opened Round 1 registration for PwD candidates on October 1, 2026.
